This vampire spirit of India is created every time a child dies and does not receive proper funeral rites.

When the spirit possesses a corpse the body goes through a hideous transformation to take place: the feet and hands twist backward; the face twists about until it resembles a fruit bat with slitted eyes; the skin becomes discolored by turning either green, light brown, or white; and the fingernails grow long and carry a poison on them. It can call a green horse to it to use as a mount.

While it can feed on anyone (using an enchanted thread down a chimney) it prefers children and generally feeds on intestines and excrement. The vampire has the ability to see the past, present, and future making a target for sorcerers desiring to use it for their own ends.

GURPS Blood Types does describe the Baital but it only has "Vetal, Vetala (India)" with no indication the vampires are related.
