“Let the Right One In” is Swedish romantic horror movie centered around a boy named Oskar who gets bullied at the beginning of the film. He soon meets Eli, who lives next door with and older man named Haken. They become close friends, but Oksar doesn’t learn until later Eli is a vampire.

Oskar doesn’t have very many friends and keep to himself. He can be seen as a nerd because he seems more interested in school than his classmates. This could be why he is getting bullied. When he finally meets Eli, he stands up for himself with her encouragement.

When Eli and Oskar get closer, she finally reveals that she is a vampire to him. At first he is kinds confused, but he learns to understand. He doesn’t seem bothered by that fact she is a vampire. I think this is because he hasn’t had a best friend like Elii before. Oskar doesn’t want to loose Eli as a friend. They are both outsiders so they care looking for a friend.

The title is also interesting to me because it hints at the idea that the movie will be about vampires. It has been said that vampires must be invited into the house by the owner. This is shown in the film. Oskar doesn’t invite Eli into his home right away so she starts bleeding out her her eyes, ears, and skin.  I have seen other tv shows, where there is an invisible barrier so vampires cant get in at all.  However, in tv shows they don’t bleed out of their skin because they aren’t allowed in until invited.

The title “Let the Right One In” is saying that you should be causious of who you let into your house. If you invite the wrong one in, you could risk the potential of your guest being a vampire.
