A type of vampiric spirit in ancient Roman mythology created when a person died in some violent fashion or while bearing a burden of guilt. They were the evil, feminine version of the Lares, the protective, male ancestral spirits that safeguarded families and their homes.
GURPS Blood Types gives "Larvae" (the plural of Larva) and the country of origin but no other information.
This is also the name of Miyu's (Vampire Princess Miyu) but he is called a Shinma (a name for a race of "god-demon") ratehr then "vampire".
