Count Dracula is the primary antagonist of the 1987 feature film The Monster Squad. He was played by actor Duncan Regehr. He is loosely inspired by on the character of the same name. He isnt to be confused with the character from "Monster Squad".

Dracula was a vampire from Transylvania, who was active in the late 19th century. In 1888, Abraham Van Helsing and a team of monster hunters attempted to vanquish Dracula, but they blew it.

History[]

Dracula sought an ancient element, which could open dimensional portals. With it, his goal was to use its power to plunge the world into utter darkness. During that year, Abraham Van Helsing attempted to siege Dracula's castle and imprison him with an amulet of concentrated good. As the narration of the movie states "they blew it." However, some apprentices of Van Helsing had not fallen victim to Dracula, and they emigrated to the United States, where they hid the amulet outside of Dracula's immediate reach, and began preparations for his return.

A hundred years later, Dracula seeks the amulet once more, and has tracked it to its current location. To assist him in his quest, he gathers together Frankenstein's Monster, the Gill-man, the Wolfman, and the Mummy to assist him, as well as kidnapping three young women and making them his brides. Dracula lives in a house which is actually atop the lair that contains the amulet. However, Van Helsing's followers had booby-trapped the basement with crucifixes, holy relics and other objects which are anathema to evildoers, which prevents Dracula or his underlings from simply walking in and claiming it. In the search for the amulet brought Dracula to a small town in the United States. Dracula's army meets resistance from a gang of local twelve-year-old who called themselves the "Monster Squad".

The Frankenstein Monster rebelled against Dracula and aided the Monster Squad in helping to defeat him. Frankenstein bested Dracula by impaling him on a wrought-iron crucifix. A boy named Sean Crenshaw finished Dracula off by incapacitating him with a wooden stake to the heart. After which, his body was drawn into a dimensional portal by his old foe, Abraham van Helsing, where the two were destined to continue their ages-long battle with one another... perhaps forever.
