Adze are vampire like spirits believed by the Ewe people of southeastern Ghana and southern Togo, Africa. Like many spirits of its kind the creature is a symbolism of evil and also an attempt to explain very real dangers people experienced on a daily basis, such as disease and the vermin responsible for spreading it.
Due to the blood-sucking nature of the creature it is also a regional variant of the vampire myth, found in almost every culture on Earth throughout history.

Behavior[]
The Adze is a shapeshifting supernatural entity. Its "normal" form is that of a small, hunchbacked, generally misshapen humanoid with ill-fitting jet-black skin, a large head, and a sharp-fanged grin.
While it prefers to take the form of a firefly or corpse candle it can take human form. However in this form any means that would kill a human will destroy it.
